OFFICE DESCRIPTION

We believe good design is not precluded by real-world constraints. In fact, we welcome them. Inspiration often lies in reconciling seemingly competing demands placed on a project. We view these intersections as opportunities. Our approach considers all aspects of the project including the physical, cultural and economic context along with our client’s vision, budget and schedule seeking to reach a balance of the pragmatic and the poetic. The scope of our collaborations range from the design and construction of intimate pavilions (Cosmology of Yard — Theaster Gates) to large scale mixed-use renovations (Historic Sears Building), new construction multi-family residences (LOHI Flats), and speculations (Union Station 2020).
